Celebrating Accomplishments and Passing the Torch

 

 

We invite you to a virtual Professional Development Workshop (PDW) at the AOM conference to honor the winners of the 2021 RRBM Awards, and plant the seeds for responsible research in the years to come.

Honoring Winners:  Part 1 of this two-part PDW will announce and recognize the 21 winners and finalists of the 2021 Responsible Research in Management Awards.  Authors of winning papers and books will summarize their work and engage in dialogue with PDW participants about the challenges and rewards of conducting research that is beneficial to society, credible, and useful to practitioners.  Two executives who helped select the winners, Jon Liao (JD.com) and Allan Church (PepsiCo), will explain what made these research studies especially valuable to them.

 

Passing the Torch:  In Part 2, participants will interact in small groups with award-winning studies’ authors, and AOM Fellows.  Discussions will address how important problems were chosen, challenges faced in conducting and publishing the work, surprising or inspiring outcomes, and impacts on authors’ research identities.  Panels of award winners and Fellows who evaluated the works nominated for the award will reflect on lessons learned.
